Andy Perry, Minister to Preschoolers and Children

Andy Perry joined the staff of FBC on January 1, 2008 as the part-time Minister to Preschoolers and Children. Andy is currently employed full-time as a Kindergarten teacher at Anderson Elementary, which is part of the Bristol, Tennessee City School System.

A native of Bermuda, Andy came to the United States for college in 1983. He received an Associate of Arts degree in Fine Arts from Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina in 1985 and a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina in 1988. Andy spent 15 years in management with JC Penney before pursuing his Masters in Education (M.Ed.) at Milligan College in Elizabethton, TN, which he received in 2004.

Andy has served many churches over the years as a volunteer elementary age Sunday School teacher, VBS Director and teacher, RA leader, AWANA leader, Children’s Church teacher, College & Career Sunday School teacher, and has served on numerous committees.

Andy is married to Lyssa Anne Hunter, a California native who serves as Director of Philanthropy for Appalachia Service Project (ASP), a Christian non-profit based in Johnson City. Andy & Lyssa are licensed foster/adoptive parents with the City of Bristol and Washington County, Virginia. They met & married while both were working in Atlanta, GA and since moving to Bristol have been blessed to add 3 extremely active little boys to their family – Cameron, Kendrick & Kolbe.
